MILITARY FUNERAL HONOR GUARD DETAIL "On behalf of a grateful nation…and Post 472” we are dedicated to providing all of our military brothers and sisters with full military honors. The Honor Guard Detail of American Legion, Harrisburg Post 472, in Houston, Texas, consist of veterans that volunteer their time and efforts. We believe that no service member nor their family should ever be deprived of the time-honored ceremony. We offer our services in conjunction with local funeral home providers.Typically, the family of the veteran will make a request for a military honors service. The funerial director will either contact the nearest active-duty ceremonial unit or our post for availability, or even both. We will assemble our detail for adequate staffing and provide a professional service which includes honor guard formation, “Taps”, a rifle detail, and presentation of the service flag. In our show of gratitude for your loved one’s military service, we offer our facility for the family to gather after the ceremony. DONATIONS Donations are not required but graciously accepted. It is our Honor and Duty to perform these services. Donations may be presented in person or mailed to the Post Finance Officer.
